Forest Peoples Programme website
I was invited to work on the modernisation and re-structuring of the FPP website. The previous website was dated and it was hard for FPP to promote the work they were doing in an engaging way, which in turn made it difficult for users to find the most recent and relevant information.
I mapped out the content structure of the website, this gave clear indications where there was inconsistency in the content hierarchy, ineffective pages that had little or no content and where the taxonomy structure could be improved.
Following this work I undertook user testing to find out how users navigated to the content they were looking for and what issues they encountered on the journey. I then provided interactive wireframes and prototypes suggesting different solutions for the user to complete their goals quickly and more effectively.
Working in collaboration with the communications team I provided a style guideline and design visuals for the main pages of the website.
The site restructuring was well received by internal staff and users. The faceted search gave users an improved way to find the content they were looking for easily and quickly. The site continues to perform well and provides a more engaging environment, highlighting the most current and important work of FPP.
Andrew was fantastic throughout the process of redesigning our charity's website. Straight off the bat it was clear that he understood the creative challenges we faced with our digital and print offer. Andrew became a key thought partner in helping us to take the bull by the horns and develop fresh creative direction and user experience 100% loaded with purpose, creativity, impact and cohesively across our work from local to global. Andrew has attention to detail, passion and professionalism beyond measure. He is a true ally, not merely a designer to make your website and campaign look pretty.
